A person died over the weekend after he went swimming close to a north Lake Tahoe seashore, investigators stated.
The person, who was in his mid- to late 20s, was swimming Saturday in Sand Harbor on the northeast finish of Lake Tahoe, as reported by the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Washoe County Sheriff’s Workplace spokesman Bob Harmon stated lifeguards shortly pulled the person out of the water and commenced performing life-saving measures.
The person, whose id has not been launched, was taken to a close-by hospital the place he was later pronounced lifeless.
Based on Harmon, the drowning seems to be unintentional and continues to be beneath investigation.
No further particulars have been launched.
Sand Harbor is south of Incline Village and north of the Thunderbird Lodge on the lake’s east aspect.
This isn’t the primary demise at Lake Tahoe in current months. A kayaker drowned within the lake on the Fourth of July close to the Tahoe Keys Marina.
A soccer participant with the San Jose Earthquakes was rescued from an space close to Zephyr’s Cove.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Workplace estimated there have been at the least 20 water rescues, as of July 5.
The seashores round Lake Tahoe are a sliver in comparison with years previous because of the above common Northern California snowmelt, which can also be making the water deeper and colder.
