SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (AP) – A South Carolina Home Republican is saying her bid to oust U.S. Home Rep. Mark Sanford subsequent yr, with the backing of two state legislative leaders.
Freshman Rep. Katie Arrington kicked off her race for Congress on Wednesday by calling South Carolina’s former governor a profession politician. Two different potential main challengers have dropped their bid.
The Submit and Courier of Charleston reviews Arrington refused to reply questions from reporters at her announcement. Home Speaker Jay Lucas of Hartsville and Home Majority Chief Gary Simrill of Rock Hill endorsed her on the occasion.
