A scholar died Tuesday afternoon following a “medical emergency” at Murray Center Faculty in St. Augustine, in accordance with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Workplace.
The teenager, whose identify and age weren’t given, was collaborating in after-faculty woman’s basketball tryouts on the one hundred fifty Holmes Blvd. faculty when she collapsed, the Sheriff’s Workplace stated. The tryouts, begun after courses Monday and Tuesday, have been cancelled for Wednesday, in accordance with the varsity district.
Saying that many college students, academics, faculty employees and fogeys can be “reeling from this information,” Principal Tom Schwarm knowledgeable faculty mother and father of the dying in an e-mail assertion.
“It’s with excessive unhappiness and a heavy coronary heart that I relay the information that considered one of our very personal college students has handed away this night. It’s out of respect for the household that I don’t relay her identify presently,” he wrote. “… We may have our disaster workforce which incorporates grief counselors, district employees, faculty counselors and social staff on website tomorrow [Wednesday], and for so long as wanted, to help the complete faculty group.”
Deputies and St. Johns Hearth Rescue responded to the scene simply west of downtown St. Augustine shortly after three p.m. after the younger lady went into “medical misery.” Taken to Flagler Hospital, she was pronounced lifeless.
The reason for dying can be decided by the District Medical Examiner’s Workplace.
