SANTA PAULA, Calif. (AP) — Ferocious winds in Southern California whipped up an explosive wildfire that prompted evacuation orders for almost eight,000 houses, authorities stated.

The blaze broke out Monday and grew wildly to greater than forty sq. miles (103 sq. kilometers) within the hours that adopted, consuming vegetation that hasn’t burned in many years, Ventura County Hearth Sgt. Eric Buschow stated.
