South Carolina sending helicopters, firefighters to Texas

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – South Carolina is sending helicopters, Nationwide Guard troopers, rescue swimmers and others to Texas to assist cope with the devastation brought on by Hurricane Harvey.

Gov. Henry McMaster’s workplace stated Tuesday that McMaster has signed an order to offer assist requested by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.

The state is sending two South Carolina Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Groups consist of 4 Nationwide Guard troopers and rescue swimmers from throughout the state. South Carolina can also be sending a floor workforce of eight troopers and 9 rescue swimmers.

McMaster’s workplace additionally says the South Carolina Forestry Fee is sending 18 members of its incident administration staff to Texas on Wednesday to assist with ongoing flood restoration efforts in Texas.

McMaster says the state is able to present any further assist Texas might request.
