LANDRUM, S.C. (AP) – A person accused of killing two individuals after crashing into their motorbike in South Carolina has been sentenced to fifteen years in jail.
The Spartanburg Herald-Journal studies forty three-yr-previous Harley Simms Beck pleaded responsible Tuesday to 2 counts of reckless murder in change for having the felony DUI leading to dying expenses towards him dismissed. He was sentenced to fifteen years in jail and 5 years of probation.
On April 26, 2016, Beck was driving on Freeway 14 close to Landrum when he smashed into the again of a motorbike. The driving force, 32-yr-previous James Blackwell, was taken to a hospital the place he died eight days later. The passenger, 19-yr-previous Chloe Duncan, died on the scene.
Solicitor Barry Barnette says Beck was later discovered to have alcohol, Valium and Xanax in his system.
