COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The American Coronary heart Affiliation kicked off their Pink Sofa Tour Saturday at Colonie Middle.
Volunteers take turns sitting down on the Purple Sofa with native individuals affected by coronary heart illness or stroke to share their tales.
Volunteer Jill Harris-Johnson says the tour not solely provides survivors the braveness to talk out, but in addition helps individuals acknowledge the indicators of coronary heart illness and stroke and probably save a life.
“One thing like this, share their coronary heart that’s all i can say,” Jill Harris-Johnson, volunteer.
Saturday’s tales included 10-yr-previous Paige Sullivan who wrote a e-book referred to as “Embrace the Cape” about her expertise having open coronary heart surgical procedure when she was eight.
