Police investigating fatal crash in Jefferson

JEFFERSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) – New York State Police are investigating a deadly crash in Jefferson.

The crash occurred at round three:30 p.m. on Route 10.

Police say Debra Galasso, forty seven, of Summit was driving north when for an unknown purpose she veered into oncoming visitors and struck a car head-on. Galasso was not injured within the collision.

A backseat passenger in Galasso’s was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening accidents.

The driving force of the opposite car, Leonard Williams, 50, of Jefferson, suffered extreme head trauma and was pronounced lifeless on the scene. Police say he was not sporting his seatbelt on the time of the crash.

No costs or tickets have been issued right now.
