Police identify man killed in Thanksgiving shooting outside nightclub

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Workplace recognized a 20-yr-previous man who died from a gunshot wound within the early hours of Thanksgiving after a capturing outdoors a nightclub on Philips Freeway.

Officers responded to the Vibe nightclub at 5800 Philips Hwy. after 2 a.m. on Nov. 23 and located Jarvaris Platts of the 6700 block of Crystal River Street affected by the wound, in line with the Sheriff’s Workplace.

Police stated Platts and a number of other associates had been on the membership and have been leaving when somebody drove up and shot him as he walked south on Philips. Police stated there have been a number of fights inside and out of doors the membership that night time, however it’s unknown if Platts was concerned.

Platts was transported to Memorial Hospital Jacksonville the place he was pronounced lifeless, police stated.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been introduced.
