Plane makes emergency landing on Interstate 94

VALLEY CITY, N.D.—Mechanical failure pressured a pilot to make an emergency touchdown Saturday, Dec. 2, onto Interstate ninety four close to right here.

The North Dakota Freeway Patrol reported a 1974 Cessna Cardinal airplane was on its approach from Fargo to Bismarck when “complete engine failure” struck simply after 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The pilot, Jerry Schauer, of Bismarck, safely glided the aircraft onto I-ninety four round mile marker 280 westbound earlier than taxiing into the north ditch about 12 miles west of Valley Metropolis.
