WASHINGTON (AP) – Vice President Mike Pence is getting an opportunity to survey Harvey’s wreckage.

Pence is touring to the tiny coastal city of Rockport, Texas, on Thursday to see the devastation brought on by the hurricane-turned-tropical melancholy that set a rainfall document and severely flooded the Houston space. Harvey’s 5 straight days of rain totaled near fifty two inches, the heaviest tropical downpour ever recorded within the continental U.S.

Residents of Rockport have been among the many first within the U.S. hit by Harvey, which got here ashore final Friday as a Class four hurricane.

President Donald Trump visited Corpus Christi, Texas, and Austin on Tuesday for briefings with native officers.

Trump plans to return to Texas on Saturday and probably go to Louisiana, elements of which at the moment are being lashed by Harvey’s remnants.
