New police chief announced in Troy

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Troy Mayor Patrick Madden introduced a brand new police chief on Thursday.

In accordance with the mayor’s workplace, Assistant Chief Brian G. Owens has been promoted to Chief of Police, with Captain Daniel DeWolf and Captain Christopher Kehn receiving a promotion to the rank of Assistant Chief.

“Over the previous two years, I’ve had numerous alternatives to work with Brian, Daniel, and Christopher. They’re sensible, devoted public security professionals with nice integrity who share my dedication to group policing, civic engagement, and constructing stronger bonds with our residents, neighborhoods and small companies, all of that are important items to create a safer metropolis,” Mayor Madden stated.

Final month, John Tedesco retired as police chief after serving on the drive for the previous forty years.
