WASHINGTON (AP) – Protection Secretary Jim Mattis says he has signed orders to start deploying further troops to Afghanistan to hold out President Donald Trump’s new struggle technique.

Mattis advised reporters Thursday on the Pentagon he won’t reveal particulars till he briefs members of Congress subsequent week.

He wouldn’t say what number of further troops are deploying or what their actual roles shall be. He says that basically, the additional forces will help Afghan forces, somewhat than doing the preventing for the Afghans.

Different officers have stated the U.S. will ship about three,900 further troops.
