An 18-yr-previous scholar was arrested Friday morning after a loaded gun was present in a e-book bag at Biscayne Excessive Faculty, a personal constitution faculty with 148 college students at 1680 Dunn Ave., in response to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Workplace.
This was the second scholar arrested Friday on expenses of carrying a gun into a faculty in Jacksonville. A Mandarin Excessive Faculty scholar was charged with having a gun on campus, based on Duval County Faculty District officers.
The male scholar, who lives on Lem Turner Street, was charged with possession of a firearm on faculty property and stays behind bars with out bail, in accordance with Duval County jail data.
The gun was discovered at 9 a.m. as faculty officers carried out searches of luggage and purses for contraband as college students entered the power, police stated. A faculty worker checked the suspect’s guide bag and found a handgun wrapped in a sweatshirt within the backside, the report stated. The worker alerted faculty officers, who advised an off-obligation officer working on the faculty, and the scholar was handcuffed, the report stated.
The handgun was loaded with 14 rounds, the report stated.
