How did a lost skier in New York wind up in California?


WILMINGTON, N.Y. (AP) — It’s nonetheless not clear how a forty nine-yr-previous skier whose disappearance sparked an enormous search on a snowy New York mountainside confirmed up every week later in California, confused and in ski garments.

Toronto firefighter Constantinos “Danny” Filippidis was reported lacking Feb. 7 from Whiteface Mountain throughout a ski journey. As many as one hundred forty individuals a day searched the wooded mountainside in Wilmington, New York.

The search ended Tuesday when Filippidis contacted native authorities from Sacramento, California.
