MIAMI (AP) — The Nationwide Climate Service says that a crane has collapsed in Miami as robust wind from Hurricane Irma blows in.

It’s considered one of two-dozen within the metropolis.

The climate service’s Miami workplace stated in a Tweet that one among its staff witnessed the crane growth and counterweight collapse in downtown Miami. The worker captured video of the collapse.

It wasn’t instantly clear if the collapse induced injury or accidents.

The cranes have been a priority.

Development websites throughout Irma’s potential path in Florida have been locked right down to take away or safe constructing supplies, instruments and particles that could possibly be flung by Irma’s winds.

However the horizontal arms of the tall tower cranes remained unfastened regardless of the potential hazard of collapse. In response to metropolis officers, it might have taken about two weeks to maneuver the cranes and there wasn’t sufficient time.
