Flu cases drop slightly in ND, but too soon to tell if its peaked

The North Dakota Division of Well being stories 748 instances of influenza – the flu – in North Dakota for the week ending Feb. three. The earlier week ending Jan. 27 had 816 instances of the flu.

Ward, Williams, McKenzie, Rolette and Benson counties are amongst counties within the state with 50-plus instances of lab-confirmed flu instances, the very best numbers. Mountrail and Mercer counties have been added to the listing of space counties with 50-plus instances.

That is the primary time the entire flu instances reported for the week declined barely because the season picked up, in response to a report edited by Jill Baber, epidemiologist with the Well being Division’s Illness Management.

The report says exercise continues to be widespread and different indicators are fluctuating; it’s too quickly to inform if the season has peaked and influenza B exercise is growing; and a rise in influenza B is typical for this a part of the season.
