Faculty member at UNC Wilmington dies suddenly of meningitis

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) – Officers at a North Carolina college say a school member has died of a potential case of pneumococcal meningitis.

The College of North Carolina at Wilmington introduced on Tuesday that Hannah Frank, a school member in movie research, died on Monday.

A press release from the varsity stated Frank’s household stated her demise might have been brought on by pneumococcal meningitis. After speaking with the New Hanover County Well being Division, the varsity stated it needed to guarantee the campus that the pressure of meningitis just isn’t thought-about contagious and that there isn’t any want for cover of those that made contact with Frank until there’s an outbreak.

Frank joined the UNCW school in 2016.
