“I type of simply heard some banging round downstairs,” Moon stated. “It type of appeared like he was intoxicated.”
The suspect entered the store by forcing open the entrance door, in accordance with Grand Forks Police Lt. Brett Johnson. Nothing was taken from the restaurant, and the one injury reported was to the door.
Johnson described the suspect as about 5 ft eight inches tall and probably Hispanic or Native American.
Moon stated aside from repairs to the entrance door, the enterprise was not affected and was open for its normal hours Saturday. He stated it was the primary break-in he had handled in 9 years as supervisor of the Purple Pepper.
