Bureau of Land Management to decide on drilling near Mt. St. Helens

The U.S. Forest Service has consented to permit a Canadian firm to conduct exploratory drilling for minerals as a part of its effort to determine a tough rock mine close to Mount St. Helens.

The Longview Every day Information reported Thursday that the U.S. Bureau of Land Administration will now have the ultimate say on whether or not Ascot USA Inc.’s plans with occur.

With the bureau’s approval, Ascot can be allowed to check drill at sixty three roadside websites within the Inexperienced River watershed close to Goat Mountain. The world is inside the Mount St. Helens blast zone and simply outdoors the northern border of the Mount St. Helens Nationwide Volcanic Monument.

Exploratory drilling would decide if minerals are current in adequate concentrations earlier than any mine can be developed.
