60-year-old Houston police officer drowns in Harvey floodwaters

A Houston police officer drowned in flood waters over the weekend, in accordance with the mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner. The officer has been recognized as 60-yr-previous Steve Perez
Division officers informed the Houston Chronicle that the officer was in his patrol automotive driving to work Sunday morning when he received trapped in his patrol automotive in excessive water at I-forty five and the Hardy Toll Street.
The mayor stated Perez drove for two.5 hours looking for a protected path to obligation. His flooded car was discovered at eight a.m. immediately.
Mayor Turner additionally added that his spouse urged him to not go to work on Sunday, however Perez informed her, “I’ve obtained work to do.”

Perez was with the Houston Police Division for 34 years.
